Believe

"Believe you can and you're halfway there." - Theodore Roosevelt

The funny thing about life is that when humans are born, we are expected to learn two things. It is demanded that we learn to walk and to talk. We are given training wheels, called walkers, to learn how to use our legs. Words are repeated for us and we are encouraged to repeat them until we get them right.

It doesn't matter if we fall down or say a word incorrectly. Our parents laugh, clap their hands and encourage us to try again. Because they believe in us, we believe in ourselves. If we are fortunate, we hold onto that belief in ourselves and we let nothing stop us. Sometimes we lose that belief though, and we have to find it again.

We have to thank our parents for teaching us to walk and talk, because that taught us to believe in ourselves. If we believe in ourselves, we are halfway to accomplishing whatever we want. So draw on that memory of the child in you taking its first steps. The child that is clapping and laughing at taking its first steps. Believe! You are halfway there.

Have a great week.
