Doubts. They will stop you every time. What if I'm not good enough? What if no one likes me? What if... What if you are good enough? What if people love you?
Self-doubt is the first wall we have to climb. Getting started on a project is the hardest part. "I know I can do this."
When it comes to writing, the first draft is just us telling ourselves the story. It's never a great story in the first time attempt. But we got started. It is easier to make it great now.
