Oops! I made a mistake!

Many great discoveries were made by accident. For example, microwaves, X-rays, and radioactivity were accidental discoveries. Other accidental discoveries include Velcro, Play-Doh, insulin, superglue, and Vaseline.

They are considered accidental because the people who discovered them were trying to create something else. Were they really mistakes?

Not really. They resulted from creative people seeing an opportunity in their mistakes.

Oops! That doesn't work.
Thomas Edison is said to have tried over 10,000 ways to create the lightbulb. He kept trying until his invention now lights up the world.

Oops! I just invented something better.
Alexander Graham Bell was researching ways to help his fiancee and future wife, Mabel Gardner Hubbard, to hear. She had been deaf since the age of five. Instead of the hearing aid, he invented the first operational telephone.

Mistakes can be opportunities unless they're burnt cookies. Then mistakes can be lessons, turning points, or even life-changing. Sometimes, we must roll with the mistakes and see where they take us.

Oops! Maybe I created an opportunity.
It's inevitable! We are going to make mistakes. The question is, what lesson will we learn from it today?

Have a great week!
