Practice, Practice, Practice

I know you’ve heard it a thousand times before. But it’s true — hard work pays off. If you want to be good, you have to practice, practice, practice. If you don’t love something, then don’t do it.”—Ray Bradbury

Athletic sports require a lot of practice. But, before the practice begins, there is the exercising and conditioning. Getting into shape to handle the long physically draining games has won many games. But no one likes it.

Then there is the film room where you study your opponents' plays and decide how to counter them. The next step is to practice those counter plays before the big game so you are coordinated with your teammates to avoid busted plays.

Many people have quit sports because they didn't like the practice. They didn't want to put in the hours, days, and weeks of work before the one to two hour game.

Then there are the players who practiced until they were just good enough to be competitive, but not good enough to be successful. That's where coaching comes in. Coaches help players see their weaknesses, and they help them increase their competitive edge.

Whatever you are doing, put in the research, and the practice, and you will be successful. Remember this week, even professionals practice, they even need coaches.

Have a great week.
