Start Living
"If there’s a single lesson that life teaches us, it’s that wishing doesn’t make it so." Lev Grossman
Some "Law of Attraction" proponents would have you believe that if you wish for something long enough, you will manifest it into reality. But life gets in the way when we have to go to work every day, take care of the kids, the house, etc. and it leaves very little time for wishes. We spend our time manifesting food, clothing and a house for the family. We settle for our families' needs instead of our wishes and there is nothing wrong with that.
A trick I learned in college was to set five year, one year, and ninety-day goals. Where do you want to be in five years? What can you accomplish in your one year goal that will help you reach your five-year goal? But the ninety-day goals should be set in a certain way. If you knew you were going to die in exactly ninety days, what would you want to accomplish? That question sort of makes the one year and five-year goals seem irrelevant, doesn't it? But it's designed to get you to focus on what's really important to you. Are those five-year and one-year goals really important to you?
Stop wishing and get busy planning and living.
Have a great week.
